From intimate Test Kitchen dinners in New York to pop-up tastings that spotlight rising chefs, Experienced Visuals has been behind the scenes documenting Eater and Vox Media’s editorial-meets-experiential food events—including a bold expansion into SXSW with The Deep End in Austin.

JFoodo WOrld of Sake

One standout program brought together JFOODO and World of Sake for an immersive, invite-only experience inside the Eater Test Kitchen. Chefs, sommeliers, and cultural ambassadors guided guests through curated sake pairings alongside regional Japanese dishes—framing sake not just as a beverage, but as a storytelling tool. Experienced Visuals was there to capture the ritual, rhythm, and refinement of a night that blended education with sensory exploration.

Botanist Gin

Another highlight: a spirited gin and tonic competition featuring The Botanist Gin brought together top mixologists for a night of experimentation and friendly rivalry. Hosted in the Eater Test Kitchen, the event invited guests to taste their way through inventive expressions of the classic cocktail, each showcasing wild-foraged botanicals and personal flair. Experienced Visuals documented the craft and camaraderie—glass by glass, garnish by garnish.

Eater: Young Guns (2019)

An annual list celebrating the industry’s fresh new faces. From sommeliers to chefs, cheesemongers to captains, these are the talents shaping the future of dining in America. In 2019, our partnership with Grey Goose brought the celebration to life with intimate pop up events which took place across New York City in August and September 2019.

Young Guns: Princess Pamela

In a tribute to culinary trailblazer Princess Pamela, Eater’s Young Guns program hosted an intimate dinner celebrating her legacy and the next generation of Black chefs she continues to inspire. Held in a warm, music-filled space, the evening featured reinterpretations of her soul food classics, shared stories, and generational connections around the table. Experienced Visuals captured the reverence and creativity on display—honoring the past while documenting a powerful moment in the present.

Young Guns: 1 2 Punch

As part of Eater’s Young Guns “1-2 Punch” event, 2018 honoree Chelsea Gregoire led a hands-on cocktail and punch-making workshop inside Brooklyn’s DeKalb Market Hall. Known for their work with Drinkable Genius, Gregoire guided guests through the art of balanced, crowd-pleasing drinks—paired with curated bites from beloved market vendors like BK Jani, Kotti, Likkle More Jerk, Arepa Lady, and Hana Noodle. Experienced Visuals captured the lively mix of instruction, flavor, and community spirit stirred up in this joyful, after-hours gathering.

SXSW The Deep End, Austin TX

Capping off the collaboration, Vox Media’s The Deep End at SXSW transformed an Austin warehouse into a multi-sensory showcase of tastes, talent, and storytelling from across America. The multi-day experience featured live podcast tapings, exclusive talent-hosted dinners, regional food highlights, and brand activations that felt anything but transactional. Experienced Visuals was embedded throughout—capturing the layered energy of a space where culinary culture, editorial voices, and audience engagement came together under one roof.
