Psychic Hotline: Ichiko Aoba

Ichiko Aoba at Brooklyn’s Kings Theater performing with Wordless Music Quintet, photgraphed for Psychic Hotline Records.

Founded by Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn of Sylvan Esso, Psychic Hotline is an artist-run recording company based in Durham, NC. Connecting through an industry referral, they recently brought Experienced Visuals on to photograph signee Ichiko Aoba, a Japanese singer, songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist currently touring on her newest release, Luminescent Creatures.

Brooklyn, 2025: Public Records: Private Performance

For parts of this project Ichiko requested to be shot on film, seeking content that reflected the unique aesthetics of her artist styling.

Ryan Muir of Experienced Visuals flawlessly captured the energy and aesthetic of our artist, all while documenting our event well and bringing our creative vision to life. His professionalism, eye for detail, and fast turnaround make him an invaluable collaborator for our independent record label.
— Morgan Schaffner, Marketing Manager, Psychic Hotline

Kings Theatre's rich history and opulent interiors provided the perfect stage to Aoba's esoteric, ethereal sounds, almost taking on a life of its own as a character in the visual narrative we sought to articulate.

Brooklyn, NY 2025: Kings Theater: Theatre Experience

Experienced Visuals headed to Brooklyn's historic Kings Theatre to provide visual documentation and engaging, authentic social content through an intimate promotional session as well as capturing the live performance.
